The Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday apprehended a Pakistani intruder who had crossed into Indian territory along the International Border in Jammu’s RS Pura sector.
BSF officials confirmed the detention and said further details are awaited.
The arrest comes a day after the BSF Punjab unit carried out multiple anti-smuggling operations along the border, seizing arms, narcotics, and a drone.
In coordinated operations with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Amritsar, security forces nabbed one smuggler in Chabbal, Tarn Taran, recovering 504 grams of heroin, a mobile phone, and a bike. In another joint operation at Sur Singh Market, Tarn Taran, four smugglers were detained with 5.032 kg heroin, two pistols, a Scorpio vehicle, four mobile phones, two bikes, and cash.
During night patrols, BSF personnel also intercepted a drone near Ranian, recovering pistol parts and magazines. Another operation in Wan village fields of Tarn Taran led to the recovery of additional weapon parts.
The BSF Punjab unit described these developments as part of its ongoing crackdown on Pak-backed narco-terror networks aimed at destabilising border regions.
